Testimony before a Congressional subcommittee yesterday on impending changes to the Hours of Service (HOS) rules for truck drivers cast some more light on the intentions of the revisions and the difficulty of roadside enforcement of the changes—as well as what may well shape further battles over the rule’s content.

These changes to the rule are slated to go into effect just 12 days from now, barring a court decision on a pending legal challenge:

Joseph Gallick has been named vice president of dedicated services for NationaLease, an organization of full-service truck leasing companies.

Gallick joins NationaLease from Penske Logistics, where he served as senior vice president of sales since 1999.

Bergstrom, makes of the NITE no-idle system, has partnered with eNow, a clean tech solar energy solutions company. As part of the agreement, both companies will market their complimentary products – which are both CARB approved – to the industry in North America and Europe.

Bosselman Boss Truck Shops has opened a location in Tucumcari, NM, at Exit 333 off Interstate 40. The facility is adjacent to a Flying J Travel Plaza. The shop is managed by David Arellano.

The Tucumcari Boss Shop is the second shop to be built from the ground up, the company said, and is the 41st Boss Shop across 22 states.
